Stem/Steam education approach program

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM is an educational program based on the idea of equipping learners with knowledge and skills related to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in an interdisciplinary approach that students can apply to solve real-life problems. Instead of teaching the four subjects separately and discretely, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning model based on real-world applications.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. STEAM education is a concept that combines interdisciplinary teaching, integrating art with the traditional STEM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Fundamentally, STEM and STEAM education activities are similar. The concept started as STEM as an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning, connecting the fields of Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics. There have been variations over time, with the addition of Art in STEAM, but the term STEM is still commonly used.

The VSchool STEM/STEAM education approach does not aim to teach students complex and advanced concepts but rather guides them on how to apply theoretical knowledge to solve familiar life problems. STEM/STEAM learning is not limited to subjects like Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology; it is not confined to the laboratory or creative spaces but extends to the outside environment. For example, students can design invitations, event backdrops, work with friends to create an automatic watering system for the school garden, fold a paper airplane that can fly far, build a boat from cardboard that does not sink in water, and even learn how to repair household items.

The goal of education at VSchool is to help students develop critical thinking, reasoning, and logic skills through STEM/STEAM education to maintain curiosity, ask questions, and find solutions to problems. Students learn how to think, interpret using language, and write essays to give them an advantage and competitive edge in new contexts.

Psychological counseling program

School psychological counseling is a support activity for students, teachers, and sometimes parents through communication. The goal of this activity is to eliminate negative emotions and thoughts and help students overcome difficulties in the learning process. It also aims to improve the relationships between students, teachers, and families.

At VSchool, the psychological counseling program will help students:

– Timely resolve issues: The team of experts will listen, share, and provide advice to help students handle situations appropriately. Additionally, the experts will equip students with necessary skills in studying, communication, and especially stress management.

– Foster connections between students and families: Both students and families can participate in school psychological counseling to resolve conflicts and better understand each other. Timely resolution of conflicts between students and families helps children develop strong mental health and always have their families as a support system when facing challenges.

– Help teachers understand student’s psychology: The generation gap makes it difficult for teachers to understand students’ psychology. Therefore, without a connection between teachers and students, conflicts can arise. This is why school psychological counseling is conducted for teachers as well to better understand students’ psychology. This understanding leads to appropriate education, teaching methods, and care.

– Prevent school psychological disorders: Nowadays, many students face various school psychological issues such as stress, anxiety disorders, nervous breakdowns, etc., due to academic pressure, emotional issues, bullying, or facing exclusion and discrimination. Timely psychological counseling significantly reduces the number of students suffering from psychological problems.

– Help students develop normal personality: During the adolescent stage, hormonal changes make children sensitive and sometimes have non-standard thoughts and behaviors. Without the support of school psychological counseling, children may face many challenges in their personality development.

The program of team club activities aims to discover and enhance students’ specific strengths and capabilities through various club activities, such as:
